There will be two sessions on how to use Library Search; brief overview of new Library and IT page, infoskills, and WEx subject landing page; how to use RefWorks (if time permitted and required).

If Shibboleth/Institutional login authenticated e resources are not working correctly in the Online Access window Library Search, the advice is to right click on the resource title and select "open in a new tab (or window)" or to use a different browser, e.g. Firefox.

How to use "Library Search" online tutorials

Library Search will replace infoLinX and Library Catalogue shortly. Using Library Search you can save your searches and references, check your library account and renew items online. Library Search - how to make the best use of it!

If you would like to have a booked session on how to use Library Search to search for books, journals, articles and databases. You are welcome to email me at funga@wmin.ac.uk and make an appointment.

Library Search has merged the Library catalogue and infoLinX. infoLinX will be switched off end of the term.

RefWorks drop in sessions

Cavendish Library will be running lunchtime drop in sessions for all students to help them use this bibliographical online software to store and organise references.
Most weekdays from Monday 1st to Friday 26th November 2010, 1-2pm in the library training room 1.

Cavendish Academic Liaison team will be available to show you the new system, Library Search and update you latest news on Library & IT Services.
Just come along, no need to book.

If you would like to have a session on how to search the "Library Search" Primo library which is a one stop for searching for books, e books, e journals and articles, you are welcome to email me to book a session either one to one or in a small group.

"New" Cavendish Library

Cavendish Library has expanded which means we will have 3 floors in mid September. We will be on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor of the Cavendish building. We will have study area for group study, silent study area and individual study rooms.

The education stock now is housed on the 4th floor of the library. The location number is 370-378. Please explore your library.
The journals are shelved by title on the 5th floor.
